What is SABS?
The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) is a South African statutory body that serves as the national institution for the promotion and maintenance of product standardisation and quality in connection with commodities and the rendering of services.
What is the purpose of SABS product Certification?
The SABS Product Certification Scheme aims at providing third party guarantee of quality, safety and reliability of products to the consumer. Since SABS is an acclaimed institution, we at SAFIC took upon our best interest to get certified and ensure customer satisfaction, confidence and compliance to our clients is at its best.
Below are a few certifications by SABS to SAFIC:
SANS 1828 – We had some of our products certified with this to show confidence to our clients that our products, like SAF FLOORGENE and SAF OVEN for example, can be used in the food preparation industries. E.g. Butcheries, Dairies, Kitchens and Restaurants.
SANS 1853 – This standards evaluates the formulation of a product in depth to determine if the product fits under the description “Disinfectants, Detergent-disinfectants certified for use in food processing industries”. SAFIC products, like SAF FATSOLVE, underwent the product inspection and were certified to be used in food and beverage industries as products that cleans and disinfect.
SANS 409 – This is a standard intended to confirm compliance of products to the description of "Disinfectant Alcohol based hand rub". We have our products (sanitizers) evaluated and certified for SANS 409 to show compliance with the standard.
Why is it important to have these certifications:
This will help build and grow customer’s confidence and bring assurance that you are using competent products and will also prove you to be compliance to F&B standards when audited.
