The Delta Force Range - Dealing with small hydrocarbon spills

A hydrocarbon spill in this context means an oil, diesel, or petrol spill. If a spill occurs into the ground or soil, quick action should be taken to minimize the spread.

Saf Zorb is used to absorb any free hydrocarbons from the surface, once this is done, it is removed for safe disposal. The Saf Zorb is then mixed in with the contaminated soil, this achieves two things:

  1. It absorbs the free hydrocarbon between the soil particles thereby preventing it from spreading.

  2. Once the Saf Zorb has absorbed the hydrocarbon, it increases the hydrocarbon's surface area, in this way more of the hydrocarbon is exposed to air (oxygen) and this speeds up degradation.

Once the Saf Zorb has been used, the remaining hydrocarbon will be adsorbed onto soil particles. We now spray Saf Delta Force onto the soil and add a soil stabilizer – this combination encapsulates the remaining hydrocarbon, permanently preventing it from spreading and making it inert.
