Interesting did you know fact
Why are cleaning chemicals used in the food processing area Standardized?
In the past there were multiple cases of food poisoning due to chemical formulations that were unsafe and potentially harmful to human health. Big corporates were able to make large profits without truly considering the effects of these chemicals on the consumer.
Bodies like the SABS took the initiative to ensure that there are control measures in place to protect the health of end-users/ consumers. Putting in place standards such as SANS 1828 for cleaning chemicals used in the food processing area and SANS 1853 for disinfectants that are approved for use in food areas.
So have you taken note of the chemicals that you are using in food areas or are you using any chemical irrespective of whether it is approved or not.
Safic has made the customer the priority ensuring that these chemicals are approved with SABS. We have also gone a step further and also registered our Disinfectant Alcohol based hand rub against the SANS 409 standard. This is to ensure that our sanitizers are to the disinfecting requirement.
Are your cleaning chemicals, disinfectants and sanitizers SABS APPROVED?
